The National Assessment Agency have had an on-line consultation running - but their programme failed and was not fixed before the closing date of Tuesday 8 July.
Team Managers, parents, headteachers and pupils/ten tors participants (an often overlooked group!) can still have their say by sending an email to info@naa.org.uk.
This should be marked" KS3 Consultation 2010/2011- feedback failed online survey"
Does your Risk Assessment take into account the impact of having to arrange additional transport for those taking SATS and the fact that the driver may be hurrying to the event? And what of having to wait 4 hours or more to get through scrutineering/safety briefing simply because the majority of 35 mile teams will arrive later in the day after SATS? (The smooth running of the safety checks relies on teams presenting themselves throughout the day, and not en masse.)
The NAA say that this is a matter for each school to address, but they could help by re-arranging the timetable to have just one test on the Friday AND to allow that to be taken the following week. Jim Knight, Minister for Schools has distanced himself from the debate saying its a matter for the NAA.
So if you want to influence the KS3 dates and/or the timetable for 2010/2011 -have your say now and definitely before 31 July 2008. |
